ふるさと納税｜Hometown Tax｜2019/12/08

いまさらだけど、初めてふるさと納税を行った。地方の肉や果物や魚介などのプレゼントが紹介され、それぞれの地方に想いを馳せながらチョイスする。あとは住所や名前を入力して決済するだけと簡単な手続きだけれど、とてもいいなと思った。競争原理が働きにくい役所に、他の自治体と比較されるような仕組みだからだ。担当者はそれぞれの地方の名産を探して、それを全国の人に魅力的にアピールする。人気ランキングも一覧できるので頑張れば頑張るほど納税額という成果も増える。納税額とプレゼントの額のバランスが問題とされたけれど、競争原理が働くいい制度だと思う。

I paid my hometown tax for the first time. Presents such as local meat, fruits, and seafood are introduced, and I chose it with thinking about each cities. After that, it was a simple procedure just to enter the address and name and payment, but I thought it was very good. This is because it is a mechanism that is compared with other local governments where the principle of competition is difficult to work. The person in charge looks for local specialties and appeals them to people all over the country. We can see the list popular rankings, so the more they work, the more they get  pay tax income. Although the balance between the amount of tax payment and the amount of gifts was a problem, I think that it is a good system where the principle of competition works.
