You tend to be the better of the two of us often :P. Awwww so cute love it sat in tears right now. Great Steve Coogan and Isla Fisher. Hi! im a new subscriber to you! i cant wait to watch more videos! im a military wife and i post lifestyle vlogs, pranks, hauls, makeup, fashion and much more! i hope we can support each other ❤️❤️❤️.

I cry every time I watch this. It always makes me cry. I once sang in a Military Wives choir. I didn’t last long: I’m too much of a musical snob to sing in something that doesn’t require me to audition for it, or be able to read music. But I did perform on the pitch at an Army/Navy rugby match at Twickenham, and warbled Christmas carols to assorted shoppers from the balcony at the Bentall Centre in Kingston. And I learnt a bit about my fellow military spouses, too  – the cheerful, stoic doctor I sat next to whose submariner husband was underwater and out of contact for nine months; the Navy wife in her late forties whose other half was retiring soon and who was looking forward to living in her own home, one where she could paint the walls whatever colour she wanted, for the first time in her married life. It was a laugh – something to while away a Thursday evening, rolling our eyes as we sang schmaltzy chart hits in an echoing school hall in south-west London. So when I saw the poster for Military Wives, a new British film starring Kirsten Scott Thomas and Sharon Horgan that comes out next week, I was expecting belly laughs about bum notes and wry smiles about the vicissitudes of military life. What I was not expecting was to weep quite so profusely and snottily for an hour and a half. Admittedly, the premise is pretty classic tearjerker stuff. Led by a determined Scott Thomas as the bossy, brittle Colonel’s wife and her counterpart, Horgan, as the rather more relaxed wife of the camp RSM (Regimental Sergeant Major), a group of Army spouses living on a garrison in Yorkshire form a scratch choir as a way of distracting themselves while their husbands (and one wife) are deployed to Afghanistan on a six-month tour. Based on the true story of the original Military Wives Choir, which was formed in 2011 by wives and girlfriends of service personnel from the Chivenor military base in Devon, under the direction of TV choirmaster Gareth Malone, the film charts the ups and downs of the group, the way in which singing together brings them all together, and with all the feelgood moments – the unlikely formation of friendships, a star turn at the Royal Albert Hall, a Christmas number one… – that you might expect from a director who also gave us The Full Monty. For anyone with any experience of military life, the film strikes an immediate chord. From the moment Scott Thomas sings her battered Volvo estate into the entrance of the garrison, reminding the clueless squaddie on duty of her rank as the boss’s wife, to the raucous girls’ night out, complete with karaoke and thrusting moves in a local pub, I was nodding my head in recognition. The fine details are all there, too – those who’ve spent time on a military “patch” will recognise the utilitarian red-brick houses with their small, functional windows; the scrubby grass outside; the magnolia walls, dull brown carpets and ubiquitous serving hatch between every dining room and kitchen that feature throughout the film. This is garrison life in all its unglamorous glory: stuck on an isolated moor somewhere in the middle of nowhere through no choice of your own, looking after the kids, measuring out life in a series of coffee mornings and wine-fuelled evenings, trying to pass the time in as cheerful a manner as possible while the Army gets on with doing what it does – sending its boys off to war. There are wrenching familiarities for any spouse who has counted down the endless days and months of a deployment: the Skype calls that freeze halfway through; the “blueys” from some sandpit in the Middle East; letters home in familiar, beloved handwriting to be caressed and pored over, but which nevertheless never quite says what the other person is really feeling. There’s the camaraderie of others in the same boat and also the endless, dragging awfulness of it all – of the waiting, the not-knowing, the hoping, the dreading. For a feelgood film that steers a fine line between tears and laughter, Military Wives is surprisingly good at capturing all those below-the-surface, unspoken feelings that are a permanent feature of a life in the forces. And, being an unapologetic tearjerker, it also goes right to that place that every spouse dreads: the ring at the door, the bowed heads of mute apology, the flag-draped coffin. Believe me, you will weep. It’s cliched, of course. I’ve never met a Colonel’s wife who’s quite as bad as Scott Thomas, and I don’t know any choir that would appear in the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall on seemingly no advance rehearsals, to perform an original song whose lyrics had only just been completed. Nevertheless, Military Wives is a film that’s hard to resist, whether you’ve got Forces connections or not. Just make sure you take tissues. Military Wives is in cinemas from Friday.

Even though i know how the video goes of the girls singing im STILL BITING MY NAILS hahahaha brilliant. I understand his point of view. I am frugal and I have had plenty of fights with my husband because he bought something and I didnt like it cause it wasnt necessary! I hate spending money. What is the explosion supposed to be? The trailer seems to imply it's some tragedy, but no manned spacecraft was destroyed in flight before the Challenger shuttle in 1986.

The Full Monty  director Peter Cattaneo recruits A-listers Kristin Scott Thomas and Sharon Horgan to lead this inspiring drama about the bravery of the women of war, and the power of the music that saved them. The life of a military wife can be thankless. Separated from loved ones, their suffering and sacrifice go unnoticed while they live with the dread of a fateful knock on the door. But Kate (Kristin Scott Thomas), finds freedom in song and persuades a ragtag group of women on the base to form the Military Wives Choir. Finding their voice together, the misfit choir put two fingers up to stuffy military tradition and their own personal differences. As friendships flourish, even the sceptical rebel and rocker Lisa (Sharon Horgan), is transformed by the choir’s friendship, humour and courage. Inspired by a true-life global phenomenon,  Military Wives  portrays ordinary women in unbelievably testing circumstances, who find courage in the cathartic power of singing together. The luminous cast belts out pop hits and rock anthems, empowering everyone to overcome their fears together. Cried my eyes out right the way through. I can still feel the same as these girls at 67 years old, the times dad wasn't there for Christmas, or birthdays, sports days, prize days, or just when I needed a hand on my shoulder saying Its alright son. I will be buying a copy and really hope this gets the christmas number 1 spot x. I am hetalia fan therfore high five. Gareth Malone. you SIR... should have been knighted by now... the attention you have brought to the Armed Forces and there families, the lives they live and the hardship they go through,  through the ' Military Wives ' choir... You have done more to highlight they're  cause than anybody else over the last 20, 30, 40 years... You SIR. In my eyes... are a legend already.

Exceptional event. Not to be missed. attended one of these when i vistied my sister in the uk. it was good. Fabulous. I'd like to hear what Bob feels. Military Wives is as formulaic as movies go, regardless the film is surprisingly good and it uses the formula really well. However it never aspires to be anything else preventing it from becoming a classic amongst the genre.
I haven't been familiar with the true story but from the start, you just know where it is all gonna go. It still works well but nothing is a surprise because of that. It still has some great moments and a fair amount of heart
It is seriously enjoyable and it is a likeable movie with a great cast. Kristen Scott Thomas and Sharon Horgan are great here.
I'm sure there are many people who will like this film. I just can't see that much greatness in it. It's formulaic and does it's best to be a lovely and charming film but it does it in such a manipulative way, and I hate it when films do that. It is still worth watching though.

Prego Wives selling positive prego test on Facebook for 30 to girlfriends so they can trap dudes. Happened on every base I was ever on. Military Wives was just absolutely brilliant. From the moment it started to the rolling credits, I did not move, I was 100% enthralled with the characters and the relationships they had. I cried many many times throughout, found bits heartbreaking, but still I came away feeling lighter with a warm glow inside.
I laughed, I cried and I cried some more. The last film I saw that was that moving, was Kramer vs Kramer. I loved it.
