If you have a good team of people that know their jobs, shouting and carrying on is not going to lead them to greater efforts, but is more likely to build anger, resentment, and most of all, breed errors screaming and shouting to urge people on has it's place, of course, but if you are dealing with professionals, who know full well what is at stake, there is zero benefit in shouting and trying to get people to rush an answer or complete crucial tasks. There are parts in this where the Flight Director (The legendary Gene) asks for data, in a time sensitive and possibly lethal situation, and gets the reply 'stand by flight' which would have illicited a furious response from a less masterful manager. (we have all had them... and I have one now) Kranz knows though, that his people are completely aware of what is happening and would rather take some time and get it right, over rushing out an incorrect answer. my manager at work... hell and many others in the past, would do well to learn that it is counter productive in a professional environment, to rush the staff with raised voice and thumped desks etc. that sort of thing is much more conducive to things like farm labour, when the crops are taking too long to gather, than in an engineering drawing room, that is working through a problem that is expected in manufacurting ASAP, and is running late. that might have been a bit of a rant xD. but I do love to see these guys, very young guys too, calmly working through these. historic events. thanks for the channel. I remember watching this film eons ago,and thinking it was fact,i even fell asleep while watching ever,i decided to revisit it a few days ago and had the exact opposite time,i thought it was brilliant.i thought the story flowed perfectly,and the tension mounted at just the right tempo and hung there until the very acting was spot the music added the perfect atmosphere.i haven't seen too many Ron Howard film's,but this is one of the best that i have seen of his.i would encourage anyone who hasn't seen it to check it knows,you might be surprised,for me Apollo 13 is a 9/10.
