Recensione di Marzia Gandolfi venerdì 17 maggio 2019      Georges guida tutto il giorno per raggiungere un'anonima località di montagna e comprare un blouson di pelle. Pelle di daino 100%. Per soddisfare la sua ossessione, Georges ha dato fondo al conto e alla sua vita coniugale. Morbida, decorata di frange e rivestita in raso, la giacca lo innamora fino a possederlo e precipitarlo in un delirio criminale. Ad assecondare la sua follia c'è Denise, cameriera con la mania di smontare film celebri. Deciso a girare un film che celebri il suo blouson cognac, Georges si 'arma' di camera digitale e sbaraglia la concorrenza. Ogni altra giacca sulla faccia della terra non è che una mera imitazione e va 'eliminata'. Ad ogni costo e con ogni mezzo. Commedia dell'assurdo ancorata a un mondo razionale, Le Daim è un film folle su un folle che evade dalla città per vivere un sogno di predatore barbaro e narcisista alle pendici dei Pirenei. Seconda tappa di un ritorno in Francia, avviato lo scorso anno con Au poste!, Le Daim mette a punto le abitudini del cinema concettuale di Quentin Dupieux, che immagina questa volta un personaggio che gli somiglia e rilancia gli ingranaggi della finzione. Al centro di un progetto 'rimpatriato', il film nasce americano e con un attore americano, c'è un eroe che si mira e ammira in uno specchio o nel vetro di una vettura per convincersi della propria presenza. Presenza imprecisa e senza contorni finiti, almeno fino a quando non compra per una cifra esorbitante un blouson 100% daino. Persuaso che la sua giacca vintage gli doni un "style de malade", spregiudicato e cool insieme, e confermato dal ritornello di Joe Dassin che canta alla radio "Et Si Tu N'existais Pas", Georges getta alle ortiche la sua vita come il suo cellulare per realizzare un'idea maniacale in un paesino della Francia profonda. Nel corso del film lo spettatore assiste alla progressiva trasformazione del protagonista in bestia selvaggia. Ricoperto di daino dalla testa ai piedi, ruba un cappello, acquista un paio di stivali e riceve in regalo un paio di pantaloni e di guanti, Georges diventa un animale e apre ufficialmente la stagione della caccia. Sprofondato letteralmente nella paranoia, la mitomania e la pulsione assassina, non sopporta la concorrenza 'vestiaria' e massacra sistematicamente tutte le persone che rifiutano di consegnargli le loro giacche. Emergendo qualche cosa di singolarmente inspiegabile, una forza bruta ed esilarante insieme, Le Daim esibisce un'ossessione angosciosa per un oggetto, posseduto eppure irraggiungibile, manifestazione metaforica dell'istinto di morte che si complica in feticismo e sublimazione estetizzante. Il film procede per iterazioni sistematiche, l'adozione stilistica della ripetizione è una delle cifre del cinema di Dupieux, che definiscono il significato profondo dell'oggetto assunto ad espressione del mito. L'istanza libidica provocata dalla vista della giacca di daino è appannaggio invece di Jean Dujardin, campione (straordinario) di un'imbecillità gioiosa convertita qui in una demenza impenetrabile e bizzarra che sopprime i suoi rivali per compensare un'assenza di personalità e di talento. Ma il fantasma dell'artista fallito è solo una delle possibili letture del film che ne offre tante e probabilmente tutte pertinenti. Sempre al limite della burla che si risolve in fumo, l'opera dell'autore francese è un piacere da guardare e da analizzare. Le sue oscillazioni tra pieno e vuoto, idiozia e intelligenza, senso e nonsense, mettono in scena un piacere infantile a dispetto dell'orrore che sottendono. Per il suo cinema, Le Daim non fa eccezione, serve un certo grado di tolleranza e di humour perché il lavoro di Quentin Dupieux non assomiglia a nessun altro ma i suoi film si somigliano tutti, allacciati alle 'frange' della sua singolarità tentacolare. Personaggi dalla razionalità dubbiosa o controproduttiva, combinazione di toni e slittamenti umoristici incomprensibili sono i tratti emblematici di un cinema costruito attorno a un filo narrativo perennemente spezzato, riannodato e daccapo snodato secondo un principio di assurdità trionfante. Surrealista 'in ritardo', il regista ha i suoi sostenitori e i suoi detrattori. Tra i due estremi si accomoda un parterre di spettatori puntualmente smarriti dai e nei suoi film che sembrano usciti dalla serie B degli anni Settanta. Con la sua desaturazione cromatica e i suoi beige scoloriti, Le Daim conferma la regola e lo stile vintage, funzionale al blouson venerato che produce una potenza incontrollabile e fatale per il suo proprietario. Predatore che volge in preda dentro un finale che spiega il titolo e assiste al trionfo della protagonista di Adèle Haenel, primo personaggio nella curiosa galassia degli antieroi di Dupieux a mantenere la sua eccentricità dentro i limiti umani. Gentile e paziente è la complice (in)volontaria di un eroe troppo folle per restare umano, una 'montatrice' che conserva fino alla fine la sua dolcezza e la sua paradossale verità. A lei soccombe un prodigioso Dujardin, singolarmente cambiato, quasi inquietante, che ha preso peso (artistico) nei giardini di Quentin Dupieux, Benoît Delépine e Gustave Kervern, dove coltiva adesso l'amabile atrocità di personaggi spostati.  Sei d'accordo con Marzia Gandolfi?
