3.11を忘れない 〜Don’t Forget 3.11〜

みなさんこんにちは。

[ Hello, everyone. ]

本当は3月11日に記事を完成させたかったのですが、

なかなか仕上げることができず

2日遅れの更新となりました。

9年前の3月11日。

東北地方を襲った大きな地震。そして津波。

[ Do you know what happened in Japan 9 years ago?]

[ 9 years ago, a massive earthquake and Tsunami struck the Tohoku region on March 11.]

たくさんの人々が犠牲になりました。

[ Many people have fallen victim to them.]

私は当時、高校2年生でした。

[ I was 2nd year high school student. ]

夕方、いつも通りに部活動をしている時

校内アナウンスが流れました。

[ In the afternoon, there was an announcement from the school when I was working on the club activities. ]

『東北で大きな地震が発生しました。離れてはいますが津波などに気をつけてください。』

[ A big earthquake has occurred at Tohoku. Although it is far away, please be careful about Tunami. ]

しばらくして、父が学校まで迎えに来てくれ、帰宅しました

[ After a while, my father come to school, and we go back home by father’s car. ]

私の家は海の近くですが、

津波の影響はありませんでした。

[ My house is near the sea, but wasn’t affected by the Tunami.]

しかし、

テレビをつけると、悲惨な光景が映し出されていました。

[ However, when I turned on the TV, I saw a miserable sight. ]

多くの人が家の屋根に登っていました。

家が津波によって水没してしまったからです。

[ Many people climbed the roof of the house. Because the house was submerged by the Tunami.]

3月の東北はまだまだ寒い日が多いため

人々は凍えそうになりながら

助けを待っていました。

[ Tohoku is still cold in March. Many people were waiting for help. ]

あの光景から9年。

[ 9 years have passed since that sight.]

まだ完全に復興できていません。

[Tohoku has not yet fully recovered.]

そのことを、私たちは忘れてはいけません。

[ We must not forget. ]

世界中の人にも覚えて欲しい。

[ I want people all over the world to remember. ]

そして、数秒でもいいので、

東北のために祈りを捧げて欲しい。

[ And please pray for Tohoku. Even a little time is fine.]

私も沖縄から祈ります。

[ I pray for Tohoku from Okinawa. ]
