With the trio all specialising to some degree in film making/film production, their videos are extremely well constructed, and with the help of their inhouse editor Craig (affectionately known as 'Cregle') retain exceptional qaulity. The lads (or Twats, or Boiks as you may prefer to call them) have branched out since intially beginning on Youtube by constructing Minecraft videos, even being utilised to create official Minecraft trailers. They have since gone on to branch out into Trials Fusions, Worms, and more recently, GTA V (Freeroam & Custom Racing) and TTT, all of which consist of the three guys having a chin-wag about all variety of topics which may have been picked up in the media, or even what they happened to be watching on the tv the other night. They also happen to do charity albums featuring impromptu/Improv songs, their most recent album being Neon Musk. Expect to catch a lot of music to be referenced during their videos. Recommended Viewing: Trials Fusions, Worms, HatChat Podcast, USA Road Trip 2015. Twitch Streaming? Yes via Hatfilms Twitch & Yogscast Twitch Live Stream Archives? Yes, also on Youtube Hatfilms Extra Sips_ Sips_ is another member of the Yogscast who brings his own unique Dad element to the table alongside extremely infectious laughter and "I'm Dumb" gameplay. Come by, sit down, and rip your dick off. Originally beginning within Ye Olde Goon Squad (YOGS) on World of Warcraft, Sips is another entertainer which has branched out, but has shown a preference for World Builder games, Games heavy in Story, Puzzles, survival and Exploration, playing the likes of The Witcher, Skyrim, Don't Starve, and a number of other small Indie games, as well as old school 'Point and click' classics like 'Day of the Tentacle', 'Grim Fandango (remastered)' and many others. As of April 2018 you will find his Youtube channel largely devoid of new uploads, but you will always find him on Twitch playing many of these aforementioned games. Recommended Viewing: Grim Fandango, Prison Architect, Skyrim, Don't Starve Live Streaming? Yes, Sips_ Twitch Live Stream Archives? Yes Sips Live Super Beard Brothers A Let's Play channel created by Jirard Khalil ( The Completionist) and Alex Faciane ( Co-host of The Dex). Their playthroughs usually feature Jirard taking the controls while Alex looks up facts about the game they are currently playing. Being the Completionist, Jirard has fantastic game knowledge and will always try to 100% complete the game they are currently playing. The channel uploads one 30 minute video a day, alternating between 3 to 4 different playthroughs. They have played a wide range of games from all genres and eras and not many series ever get dropped. They have even had the occasional guest such as Grant Kirkhope. Recommended Viewing: Banjo & Kazooie, L. A. Noire TheRunawayGuys TheRunawayGuys are a collaborative group made up of Let's-Players Chuggaaconroy, NintendoCapriSun and ProtonJon. While they'll usually play multiplayer games, they have on more than one occasion taken turns to complete a singleplayer game. New episodes are usually released on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and tend to be 15-30 minutes long, with the Guys and their guests showing as much of each game as they can. Recommended Viewing: Castle Crashers, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Dokapon Kingdom, Fortune Street Chuggaaconroy Chuggaaconroy is somewhat well known among the Let's Play Community being one of its earliest members and contributors, specialising exclusively with Nintendo licensed/produced Games, making him known as a family-friendly alternative to more vulgar Let's Players. Competency at these games is usually extremely high, having a good grip of the controls and the story, and keeping a good grip on his fanbase through youtube comments, especially in the case of spoilers, such as with Xenoblade Chronicles. If you're looking for a slightly slower more chilled playthrough where the game really does matter, this guy might be for you. Recommended Viewing: Xenoblade Chronicles, Paper Mario, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. The Completionist Jirad is more of a critical reviewer than gamer these days, but produces compelling and interesting content none the less, looking at games, both old and new, and seeing what made them great, why they flopped, or where the series of games may be going wrong. Recommended Viewing: Zelda Reviews NintendoCapriSun One of our fellows that visits this board every so often, and is aptly positioned to explain what his channel is like if my own words do not do this justice. NintendoCapriSun provides a chilled outlook at games and a chilled experience throughout, the Stardew Valley playthrough being very good consisting of 84 episodes as of the time of writing, and not a moment is disatisfying despite a game which amounts to little more than farming. Recommended Viewing: Stardew Valley Twitch Streaming? Yes, streaming on Tuesdays and Fridays at 7pm EST. ProtonJon Specialising largely in 'previous generation games' as opposed to most modern games in current releases, if you're fed up of many Youtubers jumping on current trends and want to take a blast from the past then lets remove your negativity with ProtonJon! Uploads have generally stopped to the linked Youtube channel, but provide some truly excellent lets plays, including Resident Evil 5 and Yoshi's Island. Recommended Viewing: Yoshi's Island Super Best Friends Presented by Mat, Pat, and Woolie, all of them with skills and knowledge on how games are supposed to work (some of them even worked on the field). 30-minutes episodes, two episodes a day, every day, plus 3-hours podcast every week, and individual streaming all the time. They play all kinds of games (from Night in the Woods aaaall the way to Dark Souls), with clever and funny commentary. Their gameplay is good, they finish every game they start playing, they don't skip important dialogue and they pay attention to tutorials. They actually listen to and interact with their fans. Unofficial Subreddit here. Streaming? Yes, Pat streams Stream Archives? Yes, here Recommended Viewing: Mortal Kombat, Dark Souls 2, Walking Dead, Omikron, Resident Evil 4 FWOB Plays many games similar to those featured on GameGrumps Vs. (Various iterations of Mario Party) as well as smaller mixtures of other more recent games, or 'infamous games' (Sonic 06), you may certainly find some similarities with this group, but some marked improvements on gameplay as well. Recommended Viewing: Sonic 06 Oney Plays Once a solo let's play channel hosted by Youtube and Newgrounds animator Chris O'Neill, OneyPlays has since gained two regular co-hosts: Ding Dong and Julian of The Best Gamers who are also game developers with their independent studio Wan Wan Games. The channel uploads twice daily and covers games from a wide range of eras going back as far as the SNES but occasionally covering very recent games such as Yooka Laylee. Their humor, to sum it up in two words is very 'avant garde'; it's punchy, often times weird and just generally hilarious. The boys (particularly Ding Dong) regularly interact with and listen to the fans in the comments, Twitter and on their subreddit. Recommended Viewing? : Crash Bandicoot 2, Megaman X Other news, anyone know why 'Pokemon Fire Red' in the old topic in this section links to Mega Man, or is it supposed to link to Pokemon Fire Red and the link was wrong? I've linked Mega Man under the presumption the link is correct and the text is wrong, so someone may need to correct me here if Pokemon Fire Red was the funny series that 'has to be watched'. Vinesauce: The full Sauce Vinesauce is a team of streamers that play a wide variety of games, along with occasional non-gaming content such as art, thoughts on movies or gaming news, convention videos, etc. Vinesauce: the Full Sauce is the channel for Vinny, arguably the leader of Vinesauce and the streamer who puts out the most content. Other Vinesauce contributors can be found via their site Vinny is most notable for his game corruption streams, where he uses corruptors on various game roms in an effort to get humorous results. As one of the most known Vinesauce members, Vinny is a sort of jack-of-all-trades, with a vast number of games on just his channel alone, ranging from NES era to now. While Vinny is mainly a PC gamer, that doesn't stop him from playing games on Nintendo, PlayStation, or Xbox. Stream Archiving? Yes, FullSauce itself archives streams, whilst streams prior to ~2015 can be found archived on the following channels Vappyvap88 & Vappyvap Backup Recommended Viewing: Corruption Stockpile, Super Metroid Vash12349 Plays horror and The Walking Dead, and he's played the Sly games through. Really down-to-earth and funny. Recommended Viewing: Resident Evil VII, Batman Arkham Knight Game Attack Game Attack features former Screwattack creator Craig Skistimas and former Screwattack employee Shaun Bolen and Parker (Last name not known or given) and sometimes current Screwattack members Chad James and Sam Mitchell. Having just left RoosterTeeth, they have now become independently owned. They play all manner of games, not just current ones and even host a podcast called Try Hard, which features Craig, Shaun, Chad and Sam shooting the shit for an hour and a half about random topics. They have also thrown their hat into the world of streaming an host a series called Death Days, where Craig, who has never played Dark Souls before is making his way through the game with Bolen acting as his coach of sorts. But the big draw is of course Mario Party Saturday, where each Saturday the guys play a game of Mario Party, starting from the first and working all the way up to 10 with all the back stabbing, trash talk and conspiring that comes with Mario Party. Not only that, but there is a fantasy league on the Game Attack subreddit that tracks each players stats after each game. They also put the community above all else, constantly making sure to interact with the fans on Youtube and Twitter Recommended Viewing: Mario Party Saturday: Mario Party 4, Try Hard Podcast #30 KoopaKungFu The channel has a heavy focus on Nintendo games, whilst also playing random and/or strange games found on the side. Playthroughs range from the N64-present era, are known for being down-to earth but unpredictable. Said group playthroughs range from 2-5 players consisting of: SirEnobMort, MrPVBravo, DracoPaladin (to an extent) and Snoopy. The style of humor falls more on playing through the game, riffing or discussing technical details, usually devolving into jabs later on in the game dependent on how good or bad the game is. Recommended Viewing: Rayman Origins, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, Rabbids Go Home Glove and Boots Gaming Mario and Fafa are slightly off-brand, more mature, Muppets. They're featured on a successful youtube channel and have now started gaming. Either one of the puppets is playing at a time (obviously the puppeteers\voice actors are actually the one playing) and, since the addition of the green screen, one is interacting with what's going on in the game (in this case, usually Mario). Both give hilarious commentary. Recommended Viewing: Breath of the Wild - Highlights, Mass Effect: Andromeda Brickroad Brickroad is a nice blend of informative let's player, and casual nerd from the '80s. A lot of his favorite games come from the early days of gaming, like Mega Man and Metroid, but also tends to let's play / stream a wide array of games from any given era. He's also big into a lot of JRPGs ala Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest. He tends to make a lot of references, and mentions a lot about how he views what makes a game good or bad. By and large, Brickroad is very much about the game he is playing first, and tends to show it by how skilled he is with the games he often plays. Brickroad tends to record LPs all the way through first, then upload them on a daily basis. Recommended Viewing: Mega Man 5, Metroid Prime Funhaus FunHaus is made up of Adam Kovic, Bruce Greene, James Willems of inside gaming. Lawrence Sonntag (old Machinima editor also a streamer) Matt Peak (Editor also a member on limited shows, kind of a timid guy) Elyse Wilems (former employee of Game trailers). There are also a number of lesser hosts. The channel is best known for Shows such as Demo Disk, Open Haus, Comments show, Overwatch gameplays, a few horror games and they have one full hit man Blood money series and some of the best one offs ever. Video length in almost never more than 20 minutes except for there pod cast dude soup. Recommended Viewing: GTA V, Demo Disk, My Summer Car RenDog A Minecraft youtuber aiming more towards the younger demographic, creating worlds in minecraft complete with lore and adventures is very much his speciality, and manages to make use of his noobishness. He also has archived playthroughs of Terraria and Metro Last Light, but specialises these days in Minecraft after having joined the HermitCraft crew. Recommended viewing: Terraria, Metro Last Light, Minecraft Season 1, Dishonoured Super Couch Fighters Super Couch Fighters, run by Brett Bayonne and Michael Santell, is a gaming channel that focuses solely on fighting games. Their videos range from playing through the story mode of a fighting game, teaching the audience or a guest about fighting games while taking in-depth looks at different characters, and just checking out various fighting games from across the decades. The channel has a feeling very similar to Game Grumps VS (especially in their Run it Back videos), and viewers can jump into pretty much any video because of their focus on fighting games. The two hosts have a "straight man and bombastic oddball" dynamic very akin to the Jon era of Game Grumps. Brett's proficiency with fighting games and Santell's energy make for very entertaining videos, even for people with no interest in fighting games. The channel films in the That One Video Gamer offices, so guest appearances by TOVG staff and their associates is fairly common. Recommended viewing: The Dojo: Road to Evo, Dragon Ball FighterZ Story Mode with Dodger, any Run it Back episode Streaming: Brett streams on Twitch as ShaperofStories Jesse Cox His channel is pretty different from the grumps. He tends to focus on longer RPGs as he loves collecting loot and looking for lore. He regularly has let's plays where he invites his friends (Dodger, Alex and Jirard, Crendor, Sips, Octopimp, TB) and hilarity ensues. Some of his regular series are Fan Friday, Multiplayer Mayhem (with Jirard and Alex from Super Beard Bros), and Scary Games Squad (with Jirard Alex and Davis from the Warp Zone). Recommended Viewing: Scary Games Squad 'Until Dawn', Contradiction, Dishonoured NorthernLion Aka that bald Canadian dude who plays Binding of Isaac every single day of his goddamn life. He does solo LPs as well as cooperative stuff with a multitude of hosts comprised of his online buddies. He regularly & reliably uploads content. He makes it a point to steer clear of clickbait and drama to the best of his ability. However, the clean guy image does not stop him from being freaking hilarious. If a dry sense of humor and copious references to 90s pop culture is your thing. Although he made a career out of playing rogue-likes, he's given plenty of other genres a whirl. And then there's the Northenlion Live Super Show. The main thing I wanna recommend. A the thrice a week stream featuring 3-5 different co-hosts. It's probably the closest to GG in style. Just a bunch of buddies playing games and chatting about whatever. Basically a podcast that has gameplay running in the background. And they get way cruder on that show than NL on his own. Rarely a show passes without jizz being a main topic of discussion. A mild warning though, it can be a bit daunting to cut through the memes and in-jokes that perpetuate the show. It's been running for over 5 years and has accumulated quite the exists a semi-official wiki and not one but 2 subreddits so that might interest some. Streaming? Yes, Northern Lion Twitch Recommended Viewing: Heavy Rain, Northern Lion Super Show, A Way Out (with Mathas) ChipCheezum & General Ironicus Chip does all of the gameplay, edits the footage together, and then the two of them do discussion in post. This means you don’t get the LP blindness that others suffer from; Chip tries to show off all collectibles and cool bits of the game, and often plays parts several times so that he can pick the best play through footage, without the LPs feeling excessive and bloated. For a lot of games, he uploads two versions, with or without commentary over cutscenes. Recommended Viewing: Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2011, Duck Dynasty Neebs Gaming From the Creators of Battlefield Friends, Mob Squad and Doraleous and Associates, we bring you Neebs Gaming! The greatest gaming channel in the world. We play Battlefield 1, Subnautica, Ark Survival Evolved, Seven Days to Die and other new releases. I never knew some of these were the guys responsible for Battlefield friends Recommended Viewing: Battlefield Friends, Subnautica The Super Gaming Bros(likestoplay) Fantastic trio (and occasional quartet) of Let's Players that play games old, new, and everything in-between. The main trio, Johnny, Elliot and Matt, each specialize in certain games/genres, and usually only play games that they've played at least once before, and oftentimes have done practice runs before recording their videos. This means that they generally can give good commentary while still playing the game competently most of the time. Recommended Viewing: Ocarina of Time Stumpt Stumpt is a gaming channel primarily focused on 4-player co-op games featuring: Ash, Rik, Price, and Jas. Check out to see everyones videos, and for a weekly calendar of what videos we're releasing. Some playthroughs and games also feature overarching plot/story elements between the group, more info on the wiki. Recommended Viewing: Manual Samuel, Don't Starve Together Jaltoid Jaltoid Games, Skits, Vlogs, a Little bit of everything, featuring the couple of Dalton & Emi, known for JaltoidGames, and their animations. Streaming? Yes, GassyMexican Twitch Recommended viewing: Gmod Murder, Golf It EpikTek Greetings! I'm Epiktetus and this is EpikTek. If you're like me, then you love techy games like Minecraft and Space Engineers. If you're a lot like me, then you really love geeking out over every little technical detail. If you're a kindred spirit, then fighting the bad guys does little more than get in your way of having fun and building awesome things. Recommended Viewing: Empyrion, Space Engineers PB & Jeff PeanutButterGamer / PBG's let's play and commentary channel! Playing video games and games and stuff like that. Big Nintendo, Zelda, Mario, and Bethesda fan. Also home of the HC series, playing games like Minecraft, Terraria, etc. Boasts content similar to GameGrumps compared to many of the others on the list Recommended Viewing: Snipperclips ProJared Here are daily Let’s Play videos for games of all genres: RPGs like Final Fantasy, card games like Magic: The Gathering, horror games like Resident Evil 7, and straight up comedy - ever play a drinking game with Mario? Plus every December is D&December, where we play old-school Dungeons and Dragons games and celebrate all that tabletop games have to offer! Recommended Viewing: Final Fantasy 1 SuperMega They post one video a day (which I find nice so I'm not bombarded with content), which consists of usually Let's Plays, podcasts on Fridays, and sometimes the very special live action videos. They describe themselves as a "variety channel". I especially love their podcast; it's been said about a lot of channels and I'd hate to repeat that but they really just feel like two best friends hanging out. They make really fun live action videos, too - those might be my favorite stuff from them. Streaming? He primarily plays retro games and more modern retro-style and indie games on his channel. He updates with a new video every day and streams on Twitch at least once a week. His primary specialties, though, include classic Sonic ROM hacks/mods, Minecraft mods and pixel art horror games. Streaming? Yes MegaGWolf Twitch Recommended Viewing: Sonic Hack Showcase, Don't Starve, Minecraft - Dragon Ball Z Mod BrainScratch Commentaries A Let's Play channel that is a collaboration between YouTube Let's Players ExandShadow, Nayrman214, The One True Nobody! and SomecallmeJohnny. They make (almost) daily posts and usually run 2-3 games at a time. The group plays all sorts of games but is most well-known for their playthroughs of modern Sonic games, the Shantae series, and their annual Mario Party marathons at conventions. While they may occasionally digress into other topics (to quote frequent guest ClementJ64's catchphrase, "But I digress"), when at least one of the four is reasonably knowledgeable about a particular game or series, the commentary can be quite intelligent and is always entertaining and usually sticks to the game they're playing. Because episodes are pre-recorded long in advance they don't really interact as a group directly with fans in videos, members will often interact with fans in the comments once a video is aired. Recommended Viewing: Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, Pokemon Yellow, Mario Party 3 (Stream/)Team Four Star Gaming A channel of a bunch of people known for doing Dragon Ball Z Abridged that sit on a couch and play games together. They do mostly streaming stuff these days but they do some regular LP's too. They have enough people to keep it fresh and interesting, and are funny enough that mistakes in gameplay aren't a huge issue. Streaming? Yes, Stream Four Star Twitch Stream Archiving? Yes, Here Recommended Viewing: DnD Streams, Bloodbourne, Pokemon Leaf Green - Nuzlocke Viva La Dirt League This group specialises in satirising and commenting on the tropes of video games through comedic sketches, the most recent of which being their PUBG sketches or "Epic NPC Man". They do many co-op let's plays but also live action shows like Wrong Side of YouTube where they basically react to random YouTube videos or Amazon Prime Time where they get each other "gifts" from Amazon and open them on camera. They're different from traditional LPs but if you're no into IRL skits and such they're good viewing. Recommended Viewing: Wrong side of Youtube, Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes.
