The following episodes were also incredibly bad, but after The Long Night, that was just par for the course. This episode was the turning point for me. Knowing how the series ends and how many issues I have with the last 4 episodes, I have no desire to rewatch the series ever again, which is a real shame. I always loved the show, but now it just has a final season stain on it. It's not just that the final season was bad. Similar to how The Long Night's lack of stakes undercut S8E2, season 8 undercut 7 seasons worth of buildup to the show's climax and left too many things unanswered.
