For those saying this is poor animation, this movie has a style to it. It is supposed to look like simple Japanese paintings to fit the era and theme of the story. To people who think this film is lazily produced, the fact is it is actually much harder of these ghibli animators who have been used to conventional painting to meticulously study traditional Japanese water painting just to fit the style of the film. in some scenes, the swirling of the hair of princess kaguya with the wind is animated by painting the hair frame by frame using a brush, instead of simply outlining it with pencil as what they do in other films. even the cg of this animation is made to look as if it's being painted on, instead of pure game-like graphics. they put in so much hard work in making this film, stop letting ur impulsivity make u post insensitive comments.

This anime film was absolutely phenomenal, filled with raw emotion and complete beauty that is by far one of the best anime and also films, I have ever seen. I watched the Japanese version. Usually Studio Ghibli films don't get recognized until years later. I'm just glad The Academy can recognize talent. I'm also really glad that Chloe Grace Moretz and Lucy Lui are in this film.
