“I was asked by the founder of the Miss Ikigai brand Ria Katrina Pryke to create a logo and branding prior to launch.

Ikigai (生き甲斐, pronounced [ikiɡai]) is a Japanese concept that means "a reason for being." The word "ikigai" is usually used to indicate the source of value in one's life or the things that make one's life worthwhile. The word translated to English roughly means "thing that you live for" or "the reason for which you wake up in the morning." Each individual's ikigai is personal to them and specific to their lives, values and beliefs. It reflects the inner self of an individual and expresses that faithfully, while simultaneously creating a mental state in which the individual feels at ease.”

Ria Katrina says to me, she works with Ikigai in her own daily life and has been beneficial towards her own personal practise. The attention she puts in to her illustration whether it be digital or by hand have always been as a level of art therapy whilst being curious and consistent, considering her audience at the same time and trend focused. She lives between the busy city of London and one with nature of Limassol which effects her Ikigai balance.

To read more about Ikigai she recommends this book.
