For the following four weeks of back-breaking work and unfavourable conditions, the tight-lipped men will have no one else for company except for each other, forced to endure irritating idiosyncrasies, bottled-up resentment, and burgeoning hatred. Then, amid bad omens, a furious and unending squall maroons the pale beacon's keepers in the already inhospitable volcanic rock, paving the way for a prolonged period of feral hunger; excruciating agony; manic isolation, and horrible booze-addled visions. They did such a great job on this trailer. Ive seen the movie a thousand times but the trailer still gives me chills.
This film is pretentious and overly ambiguous to appeal to critics and " real lovers of film. If you want a critically acclaimed movie with a coherent plot and compelling characters, go watch Parasite.
This movie's only positives are the cinematography and acting. Negatives are you may go mad yourself trying to ascertain what certain people found masterful about it.
Holy hell watching this late at night while it's storming outside alone awake close to the screen volume high is a gucking experience, easily one of my new favorites.

Just watched it. Absolutely brilliant. Awesome fucking movie. I've enjoyed his comedy over the years. But this? I did not expect this out of Adam Sandler. Just blew me away.

When you find you are 15 minutes in and wanting to check your phone you realise that this hasn't grabbed you - and it will continue like that for a long time.
The two actors go through a range of emotions with little credibility but it all feels false and the storyline is a pretentious take on a familiar scenario.
Nothing grabs. Nothing really interesting happens. And it is all made annoying by a soundtrack of cacophony which prevents any real tension building up in what should feel like a claustrophobic environment.
Great actor and it was an interesting movie. I believe they built the lighthouse for the movie. Willem Dafoe is right the movie does have the feel of a Hitchcock movie.

It was without doubt absolutely BRILLIANT from beginning to end. Everything about this movie just works so damn well & the acting is above & beyond. This movie is EXACTLY what amazing movie making is all about. Definitely NOT your run of the mill, generic, chessey hollywood horror movie. It's a movie in a class all by itself and it definitely DOESN'T disappoint even for a minute. Have you ever seen a movie that is so damn GOOD that you would watch again just to see if ya missed anything? Well, this is that movie for sure. I give it a HUGE 👍👍 up.
