31:14 best moment ever. Its so beautiful. Was epic but still no female predators yet highly disappointed in not seeing my perfect wife in film. The Fellowship of the Ring was formed as a brotherhood among members of the various Free Peoples of Middle-earth. Its purpose was to take the One Ring to Mordor that it might be cast into the fires of Mount Doom, the mountain in which it was forged, so that it would be destroyed and ultimately kill the Dark Lord Sauron. The Fellowship was also known as the Company of the Ring, the Nine Walkers, or more simply the Company. Each of the members of the Company were representatives of their respective races, with Legolas and Gimli being the only Elf and Dwarf chosen, respectively. History Formation Formed after the Council of Elrond, the Fellowship consisted of nine members: four Hobbits, two Men, one Elf, one Dwarf, and one Wizard. It was the only known organisation ever formed in the history of Middle-earth to hold members of each of these races within it (and with the departure of the Elves and the Wizards from Middle-earth, there would never be another like it), who largely lived and acted independently of one another. This number was chosen to match the number of Ringwraiths, or Nazgûl. Merry and Pippin were never intended to be a part of the Fellowship, with Elrond initially considering two Elf-lords from his own house. He wished to send the two younger hobbits back to the Shire as messengers to warn other Hobbits of the growing evil. However, the Halflings persevered: Merry was chosen and Gandalf convinced Elrond of the loyalty of Pippin. The hobbits of The Fellowship of the Ring, with Frodo Baggins second from left The Fellowship of the Ring was formed by Elrond after the Council of Elrond. The Fellowship, being led mainly by Gandalf, headed down the path to Mordor. Journey of the Fellowship After a long and difficult journey south from Rivendell, and a near-catastrophic attempt to cross over the Misty Mountains, the Fellowship descended into Moria. In the former Dwarf-kingdom, they found evidence that Orcs had slain Gimli's kinsman Balin and other Dwarves who had returned there. They were soon confronted by the Balrog known as Durin's Bane, who had many Orc and Troll minions under his control. Gandalf fell facing this menace, and the Company was forced to go on without him. Once they escaped Moria, the Fellowship headed to the Elven forest of Lothlórien where they spoke with the Elven Lord Celeborn and Galadriel, Lady of Light. Galadriel supplied them each with special Elven Gifts from Lothlórien, boats and supplies so that they could travel down the river Anduin. This route was quicker than an overland march, but the group was attacked by Orc archers and shadowed by Gollum, who had begun following them in Moria. Forced to portage their boats around the waterfall called Rauros, the Fellowship soon ran into difficulties. Boromir finally succumbed to temptation, and attempted to seize the Ring from Frodo. This led to Frodo using the Ring to escape and he and Sam leaving to spare the others the lure of it. The repentant Boromir died trying to defend Merry and Pippin against a large force of Uruks from Isengard. The Fellowship was dissolved on the banks of the Anduin that day. Frodo and Sam carried on towards Mordor; Boromir was given funerary rites and sent floating over the falls, and Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli departed on their way to save Merry and Pippin. Breaking of the Fellowship After Boromir died the Fellowship split into three paths. From there Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli chased after the Uruk-hai who took Merry and Pippin. Their plan was to take the hobbits to Saruman in Isengard. Along the way the trio crossed through the Gap of Rohan and came across Éomer who led the banished Riders of Rohan across the land. After questioning Éomer, they found out that the riders had already slain the Uruk-hai they were meant to track, the night before in a bloody massacre. So upon arriving to site of battle, Aragorn discovers that the hobbits fled deep into Fangorn Forest. Gandalf, though thought to be dead when he fell at the Bridge of Khazad-dûm in Moria, came back to Middle-earth, reincarnated as Gandalf the White. He encountered Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli in Fangorn, and they, mistaking Gandalf for Saruman, attempted to kill him. Gandalf assured them that Merry and Pippin were safe (knowing they were in the hands of Treebeard). From there they rode out to Edoras, capital of Rohan. It was there they saw King Theoden in ill-condition, poisoned by Saruman's servant Grima Wormtongue. Frodo and Sam continued their journey, getting closer to Mordor. Gollum had tailed them. While attempting to take "the precious" in their sleep, Frodo and Sam awoke and captured him. Frodo realizing who he was decided Gollum could be used as guide into Mordor. [1] The Second Fellowship In the book, Aragorn continues to call the company he leads ( Legolas and Gimli, occasionally joined by Gandalf, Merry, and Pippin) the Fellowship of the Ring even after the original Fellowship breaks up following Boromir's death. The fellowship is reunited again after the War of The Ring up until Rohan, where the fellowship ends. This film is simply without equal in the fantasy film genre, and stacks up as one of the best films I have ever seen. It is a classical Jungian archetypical good vs. evil struggles (for other films that hit on that motif, see also The Natural and the Star Wars films.
I read the books years and years ago, and this film had the same ability to suspend my normal cynicism and transport me to a mythical land.
Bravo, Peter Jackson and the rest of the cast. This will be a classic for years to come.

Can anyone tell me what was going on with Elrond and Legolas when Gandalf spoke in the black speech of mordor.

Boromir : oh crap, dad's gonna be pissed.

One of the most powerful scores of all time. Im haunted and on the verge of tears whenever I hear this melody.

Watch The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of 2020 Online Download The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of Full. One of the best trilogy in the existence of man kind. Is Elronds table as mighty as the ring or something because Gimlis axe also did nothing to his table O_o. Oh no my dear frodo. this is incredible story... This predator is very very dangerous 💀. No doubt I'll be accused of setting my expectations too high. In a sense, I did. I honestly expected a good film, even though the other works of Peter Jackson I'd seen ( Meet the Feebles" and "Heavenly Creatures" gave me little reason to expect one. But in the end, so what? The film is not bad because it failed to live up to Tolkein's book, or to my expectations, or to my hopes, or other to other people's expectations and hopes, or to anything external to itself. It's bad because it's bad. It would be bad even if Tolkein, and all his readers, had never existed.
I don't mind in the least that the images of Middle Earth are different from my own private ones. In itself, this would please me. It's always so much more of a delight to be presented with unexpected beauty - with illustrations we feel we couldn't or wouldn't have come up with ourselves. The trouble with these images is that they're NOT particularly beautiful. And that's not all that's wrong with them. br> This is a story in which it's heartbreaking when so much as a single tree is felled, because the trees are so beautiful, and so rich in detail - except that they aren't. Jackson's trees and landscapes are shot on grainy, unsaturated film (there's so little colour one wonders why he didn't shoot in black and white - in fact, I found myself wishing he had) with a camera that can't keep still long enough for us to get a clear look at anything (when he bothers to venture out of doors at all; this is a horribly studio-bound production. The story tells us that Middle Earth can't possibly be one tenth as drab as Jackson's images say it is. For that matter, the countryside around Wellington isn't one tenth as drab as Jackson's images say it is. As usual, the cheesy digital effects only serve to make everything look even more ordinary - but I'm sure the damage was done long before the CGI people even saw the footage.
Given the fact that I'd read the book, and so had a sense of the wondrousness of Middle Earth that stood a chance of surviving Jackson's lousy camerawork, editing and effects, I might have been able to ignore all this - if the script hadn't been, in a word, dreadful. To see what's wrong with it it's best (although not necessary) to look at how Tolkein paced the story in his book.
Tolkein is careful to deny us information for as long as he can. Judging from the first chapter, The Lord of the Rings" might well turn out to be a comedy of manners about hobbits in the vein of Jane Austen; only at the start of the second do we start to feel the static electricity that precedes a storm, and only AFTER we've become thoroughly engrossed in the characters and the stagnant world of the Shire does Tolkein even start to clear away the mystery he has created. The quest begins slowly and it looks (to the characters, if not to us) as though it is almost over before we have a firm understanding of what was going on. A film version of the story can be as cavalier as it likes with regard to detail so long as it preserves the slow pacing of the opening chapters, the mystery, and the GRADUALLY building threat.
So what does Jackson do? He tells us everything at once; he spends the first two-thirds of his film on rushed, unimaginative exposition; he fast-forwards through any scenes that might have been able to generate atmosphere or magic in order to concentrate on action scenes that (in the book) only have any effect at all because of what surrounds them. An inordinate amount of time is spent in the mines of Moria. This is absurd: the Moria sequence does not lie at the heart of the story, it's not (apart from one detail, which could have been far better handled) important in itself - and it all takes pace in near-perfect darkness. That's the central flaw, but there are a hundred others. Notice how we're shown the scene where Sam says goodbye to his pony, even though we never saw the part of the story where he acquired the pony - indeed, we never even knew that the pony existed until we saw the "sad" farewell? This may be the result of careless editing, but unfortunately, the entire script looks as though it might have come about as the result of careless editing.
If Jackson's complete lack of visual skill adds insult to injury, Howard Shore's music adds insult to insult. Tolkein's epic - in fact, ANY epic - deserves something better than this tuneless, pseudo-Celtic drivel.

Imagine watcing this movie for the first time and learning that the man who you did not expect to be anything other than a ranger and soldier is actually a descendant of isildur. Found on the website THE LORD OF THE RINGS. Everything about this scene is wonderful, the music, the cinematography, the location and the story of course. Makes me want to watch the films.

Tolkien, whose academic grounding in Anglo-Saxon, Celtic, and Norse mythology helped shape his fictional world. The three-part work, set in the land of Middle-earth, forms a sequel to Tolkien’s The Hobbit (1937) and constitutes one of the most successful novels in publishing history. The epic tale continued in The Two Towers (1954) and The Return of the King (1955). During the party Bilbo announces his departure and disappears with the use of the magical ring that makes its wearer invisible; his discovery of the ring is chronicled in The Hobbit. Before leaving the Shire, however, he returns home. Although he intends to give all his possessions to his young relative and heir, Frodo, at the last minute he balks at leaving behind the ring. However, he is persuaded to do so by the wizard Gandalf, who later learns that Frodo’s ring is the One Ring, the most powerful of the 20 Rings of Power. It was fashioned by Sauron, the Dark Lord of Mordor, to rule the other rings and enable him to conquer and enslave the world. The One Ring will also eventually corrupt its possessor. Sauron wants the ring back and knows that it is in the Shire. Gandalf tells Frodo to take the ring to the one place where it can be destroyed—the place where it was forged, the fires of the Cracks of Doom under Orodruin (the Fire-mountain), in the very heart of Sauron’s realm of Mordor. Accompanied by his friends Sam, Merry, and Pippin, he departs the Shire, bound for Rivendell, where Elves live. As soon as he sets out, he finds that there are Black Riders on his trail. To avoid them, the hobbits travel through the Old Forest. There Merry and Pippin are caught by a malevolent tree, but they are rescued by Tom Bombadil, “Master of wood, water, and hill. ” Later they reach Bree, the chief village of Bree-land, where both hobbits and Men live. At an inn they meet the Ranger called Strider, or Aragorn, and, when the hobbits depart, he joins them as their guide. After a few days on the road, they are attacked by Black Riders, and Frodo is injured by a weapon that could put him under Sauron’s power. Later they encounter the Elf Glorfindel, who has come to help them reach Rivendell. He sends Frodo on his horse, and the hobbit escapes capture by the Black Riders only when a river rises and washes them away. At Rivendell the ruler Elrond heals Frodo. Gandalf is also there, and he explains that the Black Riders are Ringwraiths—nine kings who were given Rings of Power and thus came under Sauron’s control. Eventually Frodo goes forth to complete the quest, now as part of a Company of the Ring, comprising nine companions, who counterbalance Sauron’s nine Ringwraiths. This fellowship consists of Frodo and his fellow hobbits Merry, Sam, and Pippin; two Men, Aragorn and Boromir; Legolas the Elf; Gimli the Dwarf; and Gandalf. As they embark on their perilous quest, they are thwarted in their attempt to cross over a mountain range and instead travel through the Mines of Moria. In the underground passages they are attacked, first by Orcs and then by a Balrog. Gandalf defeats the Balrog but is himself lost. The surviving companions follow Aragorn to the Elvish forest of Lothlórien. After resting, they resume their journey, but the ring’s mighty power begins to corrupt and entice even members of the fellowship. Eventually, Frodo and Sam decide to strike out for Mordor on their own. The fellowship is broken, but the quest continues. Ultimately, it describes a battle of good against evil, of kindness and trust against suspicion, and of fellowship against the desire for individual power. This is also a story about war, no doubt drawn from Tolkien’s own experience in World War I. The enduring fascination of the mythology of Middle-earth can be seen in the success of the film The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001), directed by Peter Jackson, and in the plethora of dictionaries, encyclopaedias, and games based on Tolkien’s works. The movie sucked thay mad him more goofy then making him go on the hunt like a true killer

My god, the environments in Lord of the Rings, especially The Shire, really make me want to live there. J.R.R Tolkien truly appreciated real Fellowship. He had deep bonds with three beloved friends at school. However, in WWI two died, one was mentally incapacitated & he himself was in a unconcious state for weeks. Deal ye one with another with the utmost love and harmony, with friendliness and fellowship… This goal excelleth every other goal, and this aspiration is the monarch of all aspirations.
