I loved the Lynch movie. I didn't understand it as a kid(when I 1st saw it) but I never forgot it. Watched many times as I got older and always saw something new. the SyFy Channel mini-series, for me, is THE Dune live-action. Again, I loved the Lynch version, esp the set/costume design. But the mini-series is worth every penny I paid for it. I have total faith in Denis V to make his dream project, based on what I've seen on him so far.

I guess somebody should ask Sting what it was like to work with Patrick Stewart while working on Dune. :D. One of the most underrated pictures like start wars before it became a cult classic. I always loved this aspect of Dune - imagining an age so far in the future that it leaves behind in the mists of legend what seems to us oh so certain and real. But it must have existed at some point. Who remembers the first bands of camps and villages that scattered the once green Sahara before it would undergo its many dryings and green returns even before the first homo sapiens would walk out of Africa 120,000 years ago? Who remembers the first few camps that those early humans inhabited as they slowly expanded into Central Asia by 75,000 years ago? What memory exists of the first people to creep into North America along fishing villages clinging to what would later be called coastal Alaska 10,000 years ago? How much time will go by before our entire planet disappears in our collective memories like one of those early villages? How big will the expanse of humanity be when all of Earth is considered just another forgotten village.

Great. Fantastic. Beautiful. DUNE forever... The collection is constantly updated with new films, so visit us often. I'm more of a separation of church & state kinda gal, myself. There is a Harkonnen among you... Fingers crossed. Still love Lynch's version, a masterpiece. Can we get Viggo Mortensen as Leto Artreides? BTW, it's pronounced Geeger.

And now both of them were knighted by the Queen of England... That movie is a genuine work of art! Totally Amazing then, still amazing now. DUNE is a terribly underappreciated film. People ALWAYS complain that movies NEVER live up to the novel but it's ALWAYS the case so deal with it! At the time the movie was made, the effects were state of the art. The actors were top notch or soon to be famous. I ALWAYS watch it when it pops up on cable.

You ate it. This was painful. Greatest. Coat. Removal. Ever. Never seen a coat thrown off the way Shaddam did it.

Return of the Jedi would've been great if Lynch had done it. Damn, I was conned into thinking this was the real thing until the first few seconds in. I started reading the first Dune novel a few days ago, and I'm now half-way through it. I've seen the 1984 movie several times, but I want to finish the first novel before I see the 2020 movie. Dune is one of my absolute favorite films. Ever. Long live the Kwisatz Haderach. I just watched another Dune. As well as it was portrayed THIS was the better of the 2. Much more like the book.
