This film is a cult classic. Very interesting and informative. Ty for sharing your thoughts and videos with us ALL and your time. Well done. HUGS and blessings 🏞🌌🌠🦋👍🌅. Omg I was just looking over this book a couple days ago and couldn't decide if I should read it now I know I should.

I find ecological aspect of 'Dune' very compelling. It is one of the major themes of the book, but rarely mentioned in any overview videos. All life revolves around water (or rather absence of it) preservation of water (water is even reclaimed from your breath) all life forms on Arrakis are evolved to adapt to these harsh conditions. I can say that water is the second axis of the book, first one being spice melange. Both of these axes intersect at a single point - to make spice melange you need water as well. In terms of Christianity (blood of the Christ and eating Eucharist) water can be compared to blood and spice to Eucharist. Eucharist even having some more ancient roots to consumption of psychedelic materials to reach higher states of consciousness (like some mushroom caps consumed by ancient societies) but this is whole new topic for another day. Another aspect is religion. You can literally find various aspects of all current major religions, main ones being islam+zen Buddhism. The more you are acquainted with various religions the more details you recognize in the book. Also eugenics motif is very strong with Bene Geserit breeding program, trying to breed 'super-human' over the thousands of generations from selected gene-pools and traits. Including very strict conditioning of each Bene Geserit woman, being like a vessel to produce 'all seeing, all knowing' human.

Dude, put fan made in the title. 6:26 translation: “god DAMN!”. This ending is closer to the book. It's not exact but enough is different that it is closer. I think it's better. This reminds me of the newer series of Foundation stories. Earth has been lost and, as it turned out, its location deliberately concealed by immortal robots from the early interstellar age. To all of you that think this movie is bad, it wasn't. I made my father take me to it back in 1984. He absolutely hated it. Complained to me why he should go to such a movie, what did this mean, and what did that mean. Reminds of the hoards of people that can't read a Tolkien novel, and Herbert is way harder to understand. Back to my original story, I taped it on HBO. My dad watched it and watched it and watched it, I don't think he ever got it but he finally understood the terminology, and understood the movie. To this day he does not like the extended version. But he still watches the original once a month.
Elriclives.

Chalamet really got me rock after his performance blowing Armie Hammer in call me by your name. I didn't even know this was out there! Thank you for putting it up! I have been a huge fan of this movie from the first time I saw it when it first came out! I always try to watch it at least once every couple of months, so this was a real treat! Thank you very much.

0:18 - I guess Dune is secretly a part of the DC Extended Universe, huh.

I've heard of this 's one of the voices on American Dad, right

1:31 Michael Bolton. FANMADE IN ALL CAPS THANK YOU. I dont care what anyone says or thinks, David Lynch's Dune was an utter masterpiece... just a flawed one. Visually stunning, with awesome actors who even with a flawed script manage to create believable and interesting characters. The extended version is the one that should have been initially released which filled in some of the blanks...
