GREAT DIRECTED! NICE MOVIES. RIP genious. For me, the Deer Hunter along with the Godfather II are two of the best movies ever made. Could you please post Bob Hope's appearance in 1993. They didn't measure the weight of the chain. I have sent this movie 19 times and this movie is my 5th favorite movie of all time and this movie teaches film makers how to build characters and how do a war movie and this teaches you what war can do to a person and I think the deer hunter is the 2 best Vietnam movie of-all time and I am inspiring movie Director and actor and writer and if you have a dream its anything is possible and if you wanting to do something this world you can do it but it takes a lots of work and keep making great videos.

A great study in human ideological human behavior. Ultimately, madness. I wasnt even born when this came out, but was recommended it to watch as it was a 'classic. that is definately true, this movie is one of my all time favourites and you MUST see it! i cant relate to any of the negative comments that seem to plague this page, it IS a long film, but you have to take the time to watch it. although it has been said the wedding scene it too long, it is important to develope that characters, and for us to relate to them, hence enhancing the film.

this is a powerful emotional film, helped by the ordinary feel of the characters. the acting is absolutely brilliant, De Niro at the time was the star name but Christopher Walken deserved the oscar he got, it was one his best performances, and he stole the show.

What's the name of this movie. You got it, Man. The Deer Hunter, Cimino's finest hour. He never reached those heights again. Shame what happened to him. I think you are on the right lines. Michael states A deer has to be taken with one shot but he still kills it in first hunt. Why one shot, to respect the deer or even so it doesn't even realise / have trauma around it's death (to offset Michael's guilt. He is forced to play Russian Roulette where this is not the case. This teaches him the value of life and he can't bring himself to kill the deer during the second hunt... The Deer Hunter is one of the best movies I have ever seen. This movie has some of the most powerful scenes ever filmed. It is also well acted. I won't spoil the rest for you, just go out and rent it. You'll be glad you did.

John Carpenter should have been nominated for Halloween, his directing on that film was brilliant. Favorite scene. One of the greatest films I've ever seen. not the most enjoyable, but definitely in the top 5-10 easily in punching me right in the gut. But this trailer is absolute trash.
