I freakin loved this movie. Living in LA Hollywood I was able to tour the city of dreams and see the dystopia it became in the 90s. The older stars had wonderful stories of the 50s-70s and the stories were amazing. The rise of Weinstein was in there and he was not as bad as guys from the past. The strangely over mature young lady was a constant meme in the tales that were told and how they were victimized. Mr. T was brave to ad her to his Opus to Hollywood. The end shocked me and I often wondered if Sharon would've survived would things be any better any different. I say no I think that the Mansons were just a part of the change. The rise of feminism and the changing society lead to the downfall more than anyone's murder. At the time it was a very important watershed as it showed the capacity of the audience to kill the movie. That's the way the older actors and crew put it. Those fanatics (fans) very violent fanatics were able to get to actors and crew members. I am turned off by excessive violence, particularly for no purpose. But I decided to go see this one as I was told the violence was not as bad. My sister raved about the script, which I found so-so. The movie dragged in places and was not particularly clever The view of Hollywood in those days was very cliché. They had the actors go to all the normal Hollywood watering holes, so that took no thought on the part of the writer. It was a bland story, and then when it went towards the end, I was horrified that we were trying to find humor when we knew what really happened at the end of that night. Yes, it was a fairytale and yes, Sharon Tate's sister okayed this movie, but I found it offensive for younger people as this will be their only reference of the Manson story. The Manson girls were portrayed as pretty and funny, not the ( possibly brainwashed ) sociopaths that they were.

If theres one thing Ive learned from watching movies with Brad Pitt in them, its that you never do anything to piss off Brad Pitts character if violence is a way for him to respond. Aldo the Apache and David Mills are good examples of this also. (I have not seen fight club so dont spoil his character please.
