I like to imagine Gene Wolfes “The Book of the New Sun” series as a kind of spiritual relative to Dune. The earth is dying, because the Sun is reaching its last stage of life and growing colder and dimmer. The various characters and information in the series mention that humans became space faring at some point in their very long history but that technology and ability to do so was also lost in time for the remaining people on Urth as it is called in the books... they also have strange alien creatures who were transported long ago to earth and have since adapted to certain areas over a long time... its a fascinating series and I highly recommend it to fans of Dune.

This is a fan made from the start it has footage from the movie gladiator and John Carter. THE BEST science fiction book/s ever. just a shame the movie couldn't live up to it... Greatest. Coat. Removal. Ever. Never seen a coat thrown off the way Shaddam did it. What's that state between cautiously optimistic and f% that? I'm there.
Where in the Dune canon does it say that spice is immediately addictive. Best version ever 🙌🏻. I sometimes wounder it was a big nuclear war, hence why atomics are shunned so much. I've loved Dune since I was a kid, but this had zero information about Villenueve's adaptation. And, incidentally, it was horribly painful listening to the narrator butcher Villenueve's name over and over and over and over again. It's not that hard. Fus Ro Da. I will now love you forever for giving me this. Update: Actor Max Von Sydow, who played Dr. Kynes, just died a month ago, March 8th 2020. RIP. First read dune in 1986. have read it at least a dozen times since. god emperor and chapterhouse are also great to read a second or tenth time. looking forward to the upcoming movie. hopefully it doesn't have the same flaws as the first.
Really enjoyed this. So much better than the original cut. I also liked that you got rid of that apalling blue-screen shot when Paul falls down the cliff at 1:56:07.
