I would never escape on enchilada night.
Have it in vhs.
Darabont's feature debut has it all: a touching script, excellent direction, a wonderful leading and supporting cast, a grand and fitting ominous score, smooth editing and pacing, formidable production design - the list goes on - and many have celebrated its revered status as a new Hollywood classic. I personally am very fond of "The Shawshank Redemption" and although it certainly is not my favourite film, or worthy of the site's top spot in my opinion, I applaud its inception and timelessness.
Every scene with Hadley involved was fantastic. Can't help myself saying this. I just notice something after rewatching the lord of the flies all 3 movies, but Frodo just carries a ring and doesn't do much besides be in danger and having the others to save doesn't even bring nothing to the table, he only save smeagol and doesn't even tell smeagol why he lured into a tap in the second movie and this one. sam is real hero, he saved Frodo more than onces. and you can see his passion for help Frodo, hes not getting paid or anything like that. he really wanted to help Frodo bc he really cares about him. now of days. you don't seeing anybody on real life, people help to get something out of it. but when I was younger and living in the 90s. you could see a lot especially in children to be a good friend.
The film came out in 1994, right around President Clinton completed restrictive laws on penitentiaries and inmates. Perhaps that was why it didn't do well either at the box office or in reviews, as the general opinion opposed "Shawshank's" humanisation of inmates. Personally, I find Darabont's execution of this particularly touching and brilliant, exempla gratia given through the beautiful character, Brooks. Great Trilogy. I don't really write movie reviews and I won't go into too much depth here. My forte is writing sports blogs and articles but I felt obliged to say a little something on this amazing film.
1:48 I've heard this song so many times. Tim Robbins is Andy and Andy is Tim. I can't imagine anyone else in the role. Clancy Brown, Morgan Freeman and really the whole cast were so good. It's one of my go to films. Loved it from first view. To this day there is no other movie that makes me stop channel surfing. regardless of where the movie is I stop and watch it through. Much has been said surrounding "The Shawshank Redemption" 1994) based on the short story by Stephen King and written for the screen and directed by the man of Stephen King adaptations and prison-centred movies - Frank Darabont. I fell in love with the film the first time I saw it around the turn of the millennium. After multiple viewings, its quality and rewatch-ability has only grown on me.
I love how at the end everyone is like hell, I ain't picking his fat ass up.
Definitely one of the best movies ever. The acting was out of this world
Frank Darabont's feature debut film is close to unparalleled, and an achievement in creating a unified Hollywood masterpiece. Whenever in a movie a guard says open that cell you know shit is about to go down. That bit with the Friends song is just too much. The Friends pipe scene here was funnier than the entire series of Friends.
Short and sweet, this film is captivating, brilliantly written, produced and acted by an all-star cast. Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman are a dynamic duo that draw you in and hold you down. Escape from this movie is impossible and you find yourself more enamored with each scene.
