Skeeter is so beautiful yet she describes herself as someone who is ugly in the book UGH SKEETER CMON. For those who have read the book, i wish we could've seen Skeeter embrace her hippie fashion. I LOVE the way Allison Janney says sourpuss. Thanks for your reply to me. I agree with everything you said, 846cookie. The Help is a wonderful film. My sister & I loved this film. My sis is planning on reading the book, too. This film is so deep & enlightening. You're right that this film talks about issues that many people have avoided talking. All people NEED to be treated as equals. No one is superior than the other. Everybody can learn from each other. I'm glad to read that The Help changed your views on life. Have a nice day.
The book was AMAZING! I can't wait to see the movie
Her laugh! HahHahH.
Sad movie.
One of the best yes she she should have won an oscar. I cried so much in this movie. Amazing acting all around.
Dear butternutt...
I loved the blonde woman, what a lovely character.
This film tells Skeeter Phelan's efforts to write a book based on interviews and testimonies of black servants serving in the homes of wealthy white families of Mississippi. Directed by Tate Taylor (who is also responsible for screenplay, based on the Kathryn Stockett's novel) the film has the participation of Emma Stone (Skeeter) Viola Davis (the servant Aibileen) Octavia Spencer (the servant Minny) and a number of talented actresses.
This film deals with interesting questions, starting with the race issue, which is still a ghost hovering over the US, and the issue of civil rights and the rights of employer over the employee. From there, the film gives us to know moments in the life of these servants and we see that, in spite of their humility, they're essential for those families, where women have the appearance of not even knowing fry an egg. The cast fulfills its mission very well but without surprise us with supreme interpretations. The only exception is Octavia Spencer, who touches us and moves us in the role of Minny, justly deserving the single Oscar that the film won: Best Supporting Actress.
Our society often doesn't hear the voices of most humble. However, without them, society would fall like a house of cards. We all need each other. This film is about this: humble people in search of a voice, trying to tell their testimony, having right to speak, feel and live.
The actress who plays the mother is Carrie herself. I LOVE THIS FILM! Best one I've seen in a long long time. Amazing movie. I love how different emma stone can look.
Skeeter evolved ahead of times. When the movie was over, the entire audience just sat there and clapped. I'm from a very white community in the American west. Skeeters Mother reminds me so much of my Mum :D. But that pie 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣. Lol 2 Gwen stacys. HOW DID I NEVER CATCH THAT CJ CREGG WAS IN THE HELP. THE BOOK IS FICTION IF MINNIE HAD MADE A SHITE PIE SHE WOULD HAVE SUFFERED BADLY 🐱. @1911Sotos I remember laughing almost crying and cursing during this flick. I have to admit, I cannot eat a Pie without thinking of what Minnie did. Also, you know what's so amazing. Alison Janey who played Skeeter's Mother played a Maid on Guiding Light and Cicely Tyson who played a Maid played a Nurse on Guding Light and they showed a Clip where Hope Bauer was born on Guiding Light too.
Loved that movie. When minnie busted into the bathroom after celia had her miscarriage made me cry. awesome cast. Bryce is just all are ❤.
Aww I need to see this. Finally finished the book
That was an amazing movie, had me crying and smiling all at the same time, i think that it is an important movie that many people can learn from and i have to say that i was very inspired and amazed at the end of it.
I NEED to see this movie. Almost got me teary-eyed lmao
