I like terror, by this scene horrified me.
This film is completely devoid of any content, and skill.
It's a bit like actors warming up before a stage play ; just odd noises and exaggerated gestures.
The entire film is about artsy acting, which is a terrible thing if you are not an actor, or into pretentious displays.
Apart from that, by my count it's the third movie with that same old lighthouse theme in recent years, and by far the worst re. story, acting, editing and camera work.

When I rented this on vhs from Blockbuster, I thought it was about two Bay Area gay men trying to resurrect Mrs. Doubtfire in their married friends basement/ garage. This is some madness I WANT to see. 0:55 modern rap music in America.
Modern Warfare comes out in a month and Adam Sandler is making good movies? what year is this. These are also movies or TV shows that are downloaded through online distribution sites, such as iTunes. Holy Shit! Masterpiece! Amazing. Dafoe is in the center of the universe. it's like this movie was meant to be and has been inspired by the gods... This kinda feels like an inverse of the Little Mermaid scene or some shit. If I had a steak... Fantastic scene which has marked me for life : everything's blurry due to the marine environment, you can almost feel that seaspray and there lies this creature. It really comes out as a smack quality-wise and the tandem of actors really serves the movie well. Usually, light is easily shed on the theme of madness in almost every movie, but with this one, the mermaid could as well be real. Thumbs up for the final scene too.
After reading uzumaki boy does this movie creep me out. Ο φαροσ active member. Let's clear the air about this film. It's not a horror film. It's not a comedy. What it is, is a suspenseful thriller of the highest level, worthy to be compared to Hitchcock caliber. The humor is there, along with a few horror scenes, but not enough to overshadow the main theme of the story. The film hits all cylinders with almost no misfires.
Awful. Completely nonsense. 1hour & 46 minutes lost from my precious time... LET ME WATCH IT ALREADY. I just rewatched this last night, and there is a very interesting detail. When the father is inspecting his corn, look and you can clearly see that the corn has ergot fungus. Ergot is a hallucinogen. Other trailers: gives away the whole movie This trailer: Why'd ye spill yer beans. If there is one word to describe the best part of this movie, it would be atmosphere. From the first frame to the last, this movie will lure you in, and it will not let go. Willem Dafoe provides what is probably the greatest performance of his career, and the same could be said for Robert Pattinson. Their two characters are perfectly moulded to play off of one another brilliantly through out the movie, and the cinematography captures this brilliantly. Worth viewing in theatres while it is still being shown, because it is worth making the first time watching this movie a memorable experience, because it will most likely not be the last.
I literally had a gut feeling that for whatever reason, this weirdo movie was gonna be a really good one before it came to theaters and after reading the comments. Im upset I didnt see it in theaters. Favorite film by far gets better everytime i watch it deserves an award. So good.
