I get why people were a bit hesitant to see the film 6-7 months ago. I was too. But it's a good film, and fun. Also a decent Star Wars movie, that, if you're keen on lore, might actually work well with how tall tales work (let's say that whatever you knew about Han Solo in the past could just be him or someone else embellishing his origin story, like how rogues are wont to do. Aside from the actors trying just a bit too hard to exhibit mannerisms of Harrison Ford and Billy Dee Williams (comes across as quirky) and the soundtrack being over enthusiastically edited (too many track switching in action scenes, too many homages to John Williams's leitmotifs) I liked it. There's some trivia worth noting (spoilers. the Maw is several black holes (a bunch) not one gravity well - the Falcon always had two computers or droid brains haphazardly co-running the rest of the ship, so this was a nice origin story for that (AFAIK the previous continuities didn't really explain how it got two brains. Han Solo is destined to win the Falcon from Lando, lol - Black Sun crime syndicate is the most fearsome during this time period. Darth Maul isn't actually Dathomiri, and doesn't need to be in this, nor do pre-Rebels. Hutt cartels also run Kessel.
