Easily one of the best movies of all time, the 'Dark Knight' exceeds the excellence of its predecessor, Batman Begins' by far. All aspects of the film (from lighting, to acting, to special effects) are brilliant in that way that they aren't overwhelming which enforces the audience to fully understand the plot and what the movie is about. The acting is phenomenal as the actors are suited toward their characters perfectly, providing high-quality acting. Christian Bale has done an incredible job playing the Dark Knight himself. He suits the character flawlessly and has improved his role as Batman since 'Batman Begins.
The film doesn't feature a lot of lighting with the vast majority of the film being at night. An excellent choice, which reflects upon the film's title and also the 'nature' of Batman himself. The lack of lighting creates an eerie feel, enforcing the fact that Batman is a 'silent predator. However the dark and eerie effects of the movie are most suited to The Joker (played by Health Ledger. Heath plays the roll of The Joker brilliantly, producing a truly evil villain suitable for the Dark Knight's stature.
Overall, the film engages its audience with spectacular effects and an appealing plot. The acting is a prime factor of the film's magnificence, producing an overall masterpiece. It's by far the best film of 2008 and truly a work of art.
