Loved the film just a pity so much of it was damage control.
Our big reveal comes minutes into it which could've been done a lot better and takes a good chance for building tension straight away from us.
There's some good solid action throughout visually amazing, loved the end and there's nothing wrong with nostalgia.
Apart from the fact that we needed a lot more detail to explain what happened in between, how we got to a huge Armada ? How the emperor was revived ? Which should of all happened at the end to add weight to the plot instead of just accept it.
I did honestly really enjoy this film and it did feel like a true ending.
Maybe if we didn't have the last Jedi it wouldn't feel like 2 films squashed into 1.
Plus my son loved it and has a huge smile on his face the same as a generation 40 years ago did

I now get why George lucas said he regrets selling the property.
Let me start with Epsidoe VII, that movie was clearly a rehash for the original Star that time I get why the studio was not ready take any risks since the prequel triology (which was much better than this) failed to please the fans and the original story would have been a safer bet.
And then came "The Last Jedi" I really appreciate them stepping out of the origianl triology's shadow trying to do something the story was plain stupid and destroyed Luke's legacy completely (the original hero deserved better) Rose, Finn and Poe's arc did not have any signifance. This was all done in the name of shock and surprise.(For the record I like Rian Johnson)
Now for the last movie in Skywalker saga, by bringing back george I thought there would be more creative decisions, but after watching the movie it is clear that they were just using his old Epsidoe VI bounded script.
As for the screenplay, the movie was going somewhere until the scene Kylo's redemption sven eventhough the path to it had multiple pacing and failed twists and shock value.
The final act, I can swear that it was just Return of jedi with new actors page by page and not good at all.
Really really disappointed with JJ and Chrris terio, the same minds which brought us star trek, Cloverfield and Argo.
I mean JJ was the guy who saved Mission impossible franchise and star trek franchise (by bringing in Simon Pegg in both of them. He is just a sellout by this point.
As for the Studios, there is no point in going ona rant about their greed but Disney please remove Kathy and Lawrence from the equation. The persons fired their directors because they were imporvising and adding fun to acript which was the same reason they were hired for.
Kindly bring in some one with a deep knowledge and a creative mind (Looking at you Dave Filoni) into the franchise.
I know all you care about is selling toys and who better to bring you a wide range of Toy figures than Dave.
