I want people who get redeemed to live and actively try and be better, not just die instantly. After 30 years of constant pain and abuse, Ben Solo deserved a happy ending. There were literally people leaving my theater after seeing Ben dead.
In a movie called The Rise of Skywalker, the last Skywalker dies while Palpatine's granddaughter steals their name. So satisfying and hopeful, don't you think? Palpatine bloodlines lives but Skywalker's died. I can't belive they ruined Return of the Jedi ending for this mess. They re-created the Skywalker tragedy to make it more painful, more tragic. disgusting.
Adam Driver, you're amazing actor. The only good scenes in TROS are Adam's scenes and Rey&Ben scenes. I hated Finn, Poe and Jannah, all of them was so boring characters.
I hardly remember TROS. Everything happens so fast and without emotion. The kiss was AMAZING, but Ben's death wasn't given any time to breath. Girl, you just kissed him and he dies in your arms after giving up his own life for yours! She wasn't even mourned for Ben.
Also Han and Ben scene it was genuinely well acted despite the recycled dialogue that JJ probably thought was poetic.
After the redemption Ben sacrifes himself like Vader. But he is different than Vader, he was so young, the whole life was ahead of JJ just kills him for no reason. Ben Solo never got any chance for happiness. He has been manipulated all off his life. At least, he could go to exile in Tatooine.
I don't like Rey's ending too. She ending up alone on another desert planet after the person she loves dies is so awful. Oh, sorry i forgot she has a droid and surname of a dead family now :D All Rey wants is belonging and family. JJ killed the only person who really knows her. She could be so happy with Ben Solo. I'm thinking about how Iron Man gets to have a child and a wife and be a badass. Why couldn't Rey be a hero and a lover? Why does less femininity make women "stronger" I mean Katniss Everdeen was so powerful and she married the man she loved. Rey wanted to a family so much but JJ gave him ghosts. It broke my heart to saw Rey being alone.
This movie would have been better if they show us Ben in the Tatooine, then kiss with the suns in the background. Together Rey and Kylo could build a new Jedi Order and never be alone again. New jedi order's name could be Skywalkers. They could teach their students dark and light side of the force. They should've bring balance to the force. Killing Ben Solo was BIG MISTAKE.
JJ is a coward and he always chooses the easy way. He did safe choices in TFA too but TROS was only fan service.
Also why didn't we see Force Ghost Ben? They want an open ending? I really don't understand. He was completely redeemed, he saved Rey and there was no mention or sign of something of him.
