However it does a great job when you want to just sit down and appreciate how absurd some films can be, and don't take that to your life at all, because if you ever burn down a school things are not going to work out as brilliant as it did with the protagonist.
Also, the way some characters are presented and barely developed through the movie are confusing. Some of the characters just simply appear without any context or explanation, only later you kind of get to know who they are (but not really) at the same time these ones are sort of disconnected from the whole story line. On top of that, there's a huge lack of relation between the characters, you don't really know how they feel about each other and, really, who they are, their baggage, their story.
There is a particular sentence from the movie that one can use as a reasonable piece of advice. what kills the future is fear. If you come across this statement when you feel actual fear of what life, in a way, guards for you, if you are going to be accepted at college, if its worth taking some sort of risk, even though you might not get where you wanted at first, if you will be able to overcome these barriers life itself puts in front of you; its a pretty "comforting" and eye opening thing to hear, that you have to work hard and take risks to grow.
To sum everything up: just don't take this movie seriously (specially if you are in high school like me) characters not very well written, only that line to think about. Not a terrible movie.
