The unintentional tear was so great when i saw the movie like a week ago

The movie relies heavily on the blurred distinction between the fantasies of a lunatic and reality, the reason why that doesn't work well is that what's supposed to be real is about as absurd and implausible as the fantasy. The story hinges on one of the worst plot points, which is that the film's idea of Johnny Carson would somehow get his hands on broadcast quality footage of an open mic night (in 1981. then somehow find that a mentally imbalanced nobody (in a city filled with such people) bombing hard on his first try would be worth ridiculing on his show. That could almost work if it was justified by the footage itself, but the footage that is played many times has nothing extraordinary about it, it's just a weirdo struggling with his routine, and strictly nothing about it justifies inviting such an irrelevant sick man on his show to ridicule him further. Again, imagine Carson or Letterman doing that. So the fantasies of the joker aren't counterbalanced by the sober reality, the reality is just as bizarre, and that's how the movie fails to achieve suspension of disbelief.
Every other plot point that carries the plot forward is about as bizarre and unrealistic, starting with the other clown who just hands out a handgun currently worth 600 to 2,000 to his weird coworker who is supposedly disliked and feared by all, the rich subway-riding Wall Street traders picking fights with deranged clowns (Jussie Smollett's infamous tale sounded more plausible) the poorly justified uprising and the contrived retconning of the Wayne parents murder, not to mention Joker being about 30 years older than Bruce Wayne. My point is, the writing is atrocious, fanfic-tier, but the actors do a decent job despite the absurd material they had to work with. Hollywood is filled with top talent, except when it comes to writing, somehow this keeps going to absolute hacks.

Joaquin Phoenix's Joker: Do I look like the kind of clown that could start a movement? Heath Ledger's Joker: Do I look like a guy with a plan? Such a cool homage to Heath Ledger (and if not a homage, a very cool coincidence. The intellect of Heath Ledger's Joker is what made the movie. I can say no one is touching that. I don't talk when Heath Ledger talks in the movie and I listen even harder when he does, because everything he says is brilliant. Everything he says and does makes sense and THAT'S incredible. It may be a Batman movie, but Heath Ledger is the real star. Everyone knows it... Simply Best Joker ever. Second best in my opinion is the Joker in the Arkham Asylum game series and close to this is Jack Nickolson's 1989 Batman. Even Jack agreed on how good Heath Das as the Joker. And honestly, I don't think we'll see anyone beating Ledger ever in this role. Those are some really big clown shoes that will be almost impossible to fill...

Fraction one claim Joaquin is fantastic, this movie is the best thing since sliced bread, and the only question is how many Oscars it should win.
Fraction two argues that this is basically a copy paste movie and it stands on two (or three) previous gigants and the director is a lazy hack.
I agree with almost all of that, both sides. Joaquin is great, and the movie is decently made, but it is also stolen and copy pasted and on a second viewing the movie get very boring, and most of it make little to no sense anymore.
On second viewing focusing on details you notice a lot of mistakes and a lot of the dialogue which is surprisingly bad.
And Oscars? Please! I think many in the committee think as many others do and personally I do not think they should reward copy paste movies with almost zero originality with trophies.
The main issue I have with this movie is, seemingly opposite almost everyone else, is that I feel it is too short. They never fully develop all the side characters, the Joker is almost the only focus, which sort of work due to great acting, but if you are going to really 100% care about the protagonist he/she also need to face up against something, and the surrounding need to matter. This movie develops and show Joker, that it is. This is a one-man show and a psychological downward spiral, which is fine, but not something to build an entire movie on.
Anyone claiming this is a masterpiece have never seen a movie before. Or they are lying to you.
This is not as bad as Alita or as horrible as Us, I would put this on par with that awful Endgame movie. 2/10.
