I love that song ❤. This scene literally makes me cry every time. Its so strong, with all her ancestors supporting her, her grandmother (the only one in the island who told her to follow her heart) and just the certainty that she knows exactly who she is. Itll give me goosebumps no matter how many times I watch it.

You know, one thing I like about Moana is that unlike most girls in stories like this, she actually acknowledges that she'll be ruler one day and even though she wants to do other things understands that she'll have responsibilities when she grows up.

Typical Disney but with superb animation, comedy, and an exotic story. Lots of songs though, and much too cute, which makes it probably very good for kids. The arts and animations are stunning.

Okay okay everyone gave their props to the other characters but the CHICKEN I mean come on the chicken was amazing, sooooo funny. I'm just saying let's not forget the chicken who made us all laugh. lol. When her ancestor holds their locket and nods to her—that really speaks to me.
The first I heard of Moana was a brief appearance in Zootopia (2015. I was intrigued by the Maori/Polynesian setting and attracted to the fact that the plot was driven not by romance like most prior princess films, but rather by honor, family, and courage (and, to be honest, my own love of sailing. I was not disappointed. From the opening exposition, to the hilarious post-credit scene (see IMBB's trivia, quotes, and connections sections AFTER you watch this masterpiece) and from the use of Dead Reckoning (Reckon correctly, or you are (Sorry, aviation/maritime joke) and well-done musical numbers (Who knew The Rock could sing. to the near-flawless animation and references to other prominent films. Even the family- friendly swear-substitutes and subtle adult humor had the entire audience laughing.
This film, along with Zootopia, Interstellar, Forrest Gump, iRobot, and Independence Day (the original one) among others, is one of my favorites, and one that is a must-see for all members of the family, regardless of age.

Watch Online Vidzi…. Hmmm wonder how the next ruler will put their rock on top of Moanas Sea Shell. Moana features catchy songs and fantastic animation in addition to a well crafted story that feels both ancient and modern at the same time. Moana and Maui have excellent chemistry on screen and both Cravalho and Johnson surprised us with their ability to convey humor, emotion and song with their voices. We were glad to see a female protagonist introduced into the Disney universe who wasn't part of a love interest or even have a love interest at all – unless you count a love for her people and the ocean. The movie also does a nice job of conveying Polynesian/Samoan culture and even has a couple of catchy songs sung in Traditional Tokelauan.
Overall, Moana is enjoyable and fun to watch – if there was a negative side about the movie it would be that much time is spent with the two characters on a raft and reminded us a bit of the Kevin Costner movie Waterworld. We would have liked to have seen a secondary plot that may have kept us involved for the roller-coaster ride and maybe even some explanation as to the significance of some of the cultural elements germane to the story.
