Synopsis An elderly man reads the book "The Princess Bride" to his sick and thus currently bedridden adolescent grandson, the reading of the book which has been passed down within the family for generations. Westley was a hired hand on the farm, his stock answer of "as you wish" to any request she made of him which she came to understand was his way of saying that he loved her. But Westley went away to sea, only to be killed by the Dread Pirate Roberts. On a horse ride to clear her mind of her upcoming predicament of marriage, Buttercup is kidnapped by a band of bandits: Vizzini who works on his wits, and his two associates, a giant named Fezzik who works on his brawn, and a Spaniard named Inigo Montoya, who has trained himself his entire life to be an expert swordsman. They in turn are chased by the Dread Pirate Roberts himself. But chasing them all is the Prince, and his men led by Count Tyrone Rugen. What happens to these collectives is dependent partly on Buttercup, who does not want to marry the Prince, and may see other options as lesser evils, and partly on the other motives of individuals within the groups. I have the novel on my phone for a while but decided to watch a few clips before reading it, and oh my gosh what is this and why it's so funny😂. Ha! Vulcan neck pinch. I just love that rolling down the hill so painfully is what causes Humperdinck to lose their trail. I really enjoyed the Princess Bride. It's not a complicated film, simple in plot, boy loves girl, loses girl, gets girl back,looses her love. Throw in a former vampire as King Humperdink, three jolly good fellas trying to do the kings bidding ( Andre the Giant is just that, else can you be other? The characters intermingle on their own agenda's,until they meet Wesley,who must rescue his beloved,from Humperdink, who has his own foul plans for the princess bride. Peter falk reading the story is a nice touch, he's reading the story to a grandchild,that's not really sure to listen or not. In the beginning, it's doubtful if you want to watch. As you go on, the film draws you in,and you begin to actually enjoy the humor and at times corny parts,and wonder will Wesley die? Will the five fingerd murder be found and brought to justice? Will the Princess bride marry Humperdink, will she live or die at his hand? Can Wesley over come all, and rescue her? Other than at times feeling a little hurried, the film has an honesty that you can watch with your kids.

I would much rather a guy say to me as you wish than I love you. Zoom in, silence Mawige! Mawige is wot brwings us togetha today. This is a heartwarming comedy adventure. It begins as a typical child playing video games who gets visited by his Grandpa and gets told the story of The Princess Bride. The child hates the initial romance introduction, but grows to enjoy the story. Monty-Python-esque moments follow and the cast are brilliant, most significantly the late Andre The Giant and of course the hero Cary Elwes who played Wesley. These characters amongst others help drive the message home and do a great job of creating drama and tension and at the same time light-hearted quotes. Simply brilliant. They don't make them like this any more.
