First off, let me say that I hardly ever cry. Even when watching touching films such as "The English Patient" or "Million Dollar Baby" the most I've gone was a burning sensation in my throat.
I'd previously watched the BBC Miniseries of "Pride and Prejudice" and thought that it was pretty good. My friend recommended this one to me ages ago but I never got around to watching it until last night. And I loved it! I loved the costumes and the settings (especially the rainy scene where Elizabeth and Darcy have a little spat) and the witty dialog. The last couple of scenes in the movie (ie. when Bingley proposes to Jane, when Elizabeth and Darcy both couldn't sleep and met each other in the fields, when Elizabeth was explaining to her father how much she loved Darcy etc) were so touching that I started to cry. The actors and actresses were wonderful. I especially loved Mr Bingley, Georgiana and Mr Darcy. No matter how small a role they played, they managed to bring out the essence of the character.
One small note of discontent (is that possible. is how some of the personal scenes towards the end between Elizabeth and Dary were left out from the movie. I would have liked to see them share a little kiss, just like at the end of the 1995 BBC version. *Sigh.

Pycha a predsudek ctenarsky denik. I won't try to review this movie. I will just write about the impression it left in me. Simply put, I felt deeply affected. It's something about the atmosphere. Something about the way the beautiful country scenery is combined with awesome music that almost makes you fly. And in the perfect harmony with this artistic environment are the actors who create the effect only the end of the 19th century could produce with all its pride and prejudice. If I were to compare it to other movie, I would certainly choose Forrest Gump. Though the setting and plot is completely different, there is the same gentle humor and feeling in both of them that fills one with delight. So if you are not afraid of an emotional tide this motion picture brings then there's no excuse for not seeing it.
