At it's core this film is about Thanos, he's given a lot of screen-time to the point where he's basically the main character. The way most superhero movies work is we spend a majority of the film with the hero and then in mostly unconnected scenes until the third act, we sometimes cut to the villain doing their thing. Infinity War reversed that and treats Thanos like the protagonist but certainty not the hero. This created an extremely interesting film that I thoroughly enjoyed both times I saw it at the cinema.
