ASK ME/TELL ME/CALL ME

Hi everybody!

Here are some phrases that give many students trouble:

ask me

tell me

call me

日本語で「に」が入るから英語に直訳したら call to 誰々/tell to 誰々/call to 誰々って言ってしまう生徒さんが多いです。間違えやすいですね。 

Just take out “to.” So, let`s practice…

Please call me. (電話して下さい。)

Please ask your mom. (お母さんに聞いて。)

I have to call my girlfriend. (彼女に電話しなきゃ。)

I told my boss. (上司に言った。)

Did you ask your boyfriend? (彼氏に聞いた？)

「Call to me/ask to me/told to my boss」 はジャパニーズイングリッシュです。 But in every case there is no “to.” “To” を抜くだけですね！
