"Get Out" This award winning film did a great job showing the brutally honest truth of racism in America. This film was one big contradiction. It shows that white privilege is a real life and is happening but at the same time; while also showing that white people are envious of black people because of all the stereotypes. There were many times in the film when someone would hint at their obsession with Chris in being a stereotype of African Americans. For instance, black is in fashion" the athletic ability, genes, etc. Although they love being white it makes you think, is white really the superior race? Dean Armitage had mentioned to Chris about the 1936 Olympics in Berlin, Germany where the US track star won gold, not allowing the Aryan race to be superior. This film depicts the courage African Americans must have in order to stand up for themselves and take pride in their culture.
The overall message in this film relates to one of the most real situations happening in America. In addition, when you analyze the film from an artistic viewpoint, you'll understand the film is an award winning film. Every camera angle, sound, lighting, facial expression was done so well in this film. What I thought was truly amazing was the amount of foreshadowing there was. For example, when Chris and Rose are on the was the Armitage household and hit the deer, Chris goes over to see it, which leads to the forest creating a tunnel where it separates the real world (life) to in the darkness of the woods (death. A similar scene is shown during Chris's dream, and finally we are shown what is being foreshadowed. When Chris is hypnotized and falls into the absolute darkness of the "SUNKEN PLACE" Chris goes from real life to the darkness of the Sunken Place.
The camera angle used when showing the Sunken Place gives the audience the sense of being in there with Chris. The extreme long shot makes it seem like we have actually sunk down into our minds. The long shot also portrays like we are watching what's happening through the inside of a television set. The close ups of Chris on the chairs while being hypnotized really shows the audience the mental pain and torture he is going through. eyes bulging, tears flowing, sweat dripping. we get every detail of what he is going through in these moments.
The sound editing and score of this film is what made the film as suspenseful as it is. The screechy violin gives you the sense of unsettlement, the same as the nails scratching on the chairs almost makes you shiver or cover your ears because of how unsettling it is. The use of silence in the film enhances the creepiness of the film. When Chris goes upstairs to check his phone and the entire party in unison becomes silent. In the Sunken Place, Chris is unable to speak; we see his mouth move but nothing comes out.
The overall message and the artistry of this film was just amazing and being produced by a well known comedian Jordan Peele. He did a wonderful job of creating very real life horror film.

4:30 reminds me of this. Just a little heads up The handcuffs she gave to Adelaide to put on where the same handcuffs she tied her on the bed with. This movie aint just about Kanye west its about all of us and how her being hypnotized into this matrix lmao. When someone does an impression of Obama it makes me cry. I was extremely late in watching this movie and I regret it. Actually pushing back on the gun, depending on the type, can prevent it from firing.
